Pilates

Pilates is a body conditioning method that targets the deep postural muscles, by building strength from the inside out. It helps to rebalance the body and improves alignment and posture. The exercises are a combination of flexibility and strength training using precise controlled movements, focusing on abdominal and back strength and stabilisation.

Pilates is suitable for all ages, male and female, and all levels of fitness, from injury rehabilitation to advanced conditioning programmes for professional athletes.

Debbie, the instructor, is also an osteopath and draws on her detailed knowledge of anatomy to tailor exercises to suit each individuals needs and abilities. Pilates is gentle on joints and can be an excellent way to both relieve and prevent the recurrence of joint, neck and back pain.

Classes are small to ensure clients perform the mat based exercises safely and effectively. One-to-one, and one-to-two sessions available at the clinic by arrangement.
