Counselling

Counselling is a safe place for you to stop, take stock and explore the parts of your life that you are finding difficult. It is a time for you to use for whatever you decide, without pressure or judgement.

Some people come for a few sessions, some for longer. You can use counselling for all sorts of issues, for example, alcoholism, bereavement, relationship difficulties, harassment at work, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem or decision making. Dealing with 'unwanted habits' of whatever kind can be a large part of counselling.

This model of counselling is called 'person centred' counselling and is based on the work of Carl Rogers. It recognises that we all experience our lives in our own individual way. You are the expert in your own life, counselling can help you to find your own expertise, and the counsellor is there to accompany you on your inner journey.
