Hypnosis, quite literally is a state of heightened awareness during which time the subconscious mind is able to accept positive suggestions. Hypnotherapy is therapy whilst carried out in hypnosis.
Most of us experience a state of hypnosis everyday without even realising it, driving to work, watching the TV, daydreaming. When you have hypnotherapy it is simply a deep state of relaxation, where you the client are in control at all times.
NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming is a set of tools and techniques, which shows you how to run your own mind and to create effective change in your thoughts, beliefs, behaviours and states. NLP is a map of the mind.
With Hypnosis and NLP it is possible to tap into one’s inner strengths and resources. It can be difficult with irrational fears (fear of spiders) or deep ingrained habits like smoking, that no amount of rational conscious thinking will make a change. This takes place at the deeper sub-conscious level and learning how to get there is the first step in regaining control. It is then possible to make effective change (stop smoking) and to learn and make use of a range of life-skills that help avoid feelings of stress and overwhelm.
People come to hypnotherapy for a wide variety of reasons, to stop smoking, lose weight, fear of flying, panic attacks, self confidence, public speaking, the list is endless.
